Over the past decade, the south-west corridor stretching from Wacol through Redbank and into Ipswich has transformed into one of Queensland’s most significant industrial and logistics locations. What was once a secondary market has become a first-choice destination for national and global occupiers — and the investment underpinning that shift has been substantial.
More than $6.5 billion in motorway upgrades have been completed across the corridor, delivering a connectivity advantage that is difficult to match anywhere else in Queensland. From Redbank, businesses have direct access to the Ipswich Motorway, Logan Motorway, Warrego Highway, and Cunningham Highway — placing them within reach of Brisbane CBD (30 minutes), the Port of Brisbane (40 minutes), and key regional centres.
Redbank Motorway Estate has emerged as the anchor of this precinct. The estate now counts FedEx, Coles, L’Oréal, Australia Post, DB Schenker, Bapcor and Officeworks among its occupiers — a concentration of major logistics and supply chain operators that reflects the precinct’s strategic credentials. Australia Post’s facility here is their largest parcel distribution centre in Australia. Coles operates a 66,000 sqm automated hub. FedEx relocated their Queensland regional headquarters to the estate.
The scale and calibre of these investments speaks to something broader: the south-west corridor is where SEQ’s supply chain infrastructure is consolidating. For businesses that depend on efficient freight movement, last-mile delivery, or interstate distribution, few locations in Queensland offer the same combination of connectivity, scale, and established logistics ecosystem. With further development activity underway and ongoing infrastructure investment in the region, the corridor’s trajectory points firmly upward.
